Details
The colour is rubbed into the hide rather than sprayed over it, so no two come out the same and the raised areas lighten as you handle it. That is the point of this finish. It looks better after a year than it does out of the box.
Inside it is unlined. What you see is the flesh side of the same piece of leather, left as it is: no fabric, no glue, nothing to fray or peel away from the shell. One long compartment, and a flat card pocket on the front.
The workshop calls this leather vegetable tanned. We have no document that proves it, so we call it top grain cowhide and leave it at that.
It is the one piece here that is not particular to women's dressing. It goes in a coat pocket as readily as in a bag, which makes it the easiest of the four to buy for somebody else.

Care
Wipe with a dry cloth. A leather conditioner twice a year. Expect the colour to lighten where your hand holds it. That is the finish doing what it is meant to do, not wearing out.
